The symposium will focus on the art of civil engineering in design, structural planning and implementation. Based on extraordinary current construction projects, future challenges in civil engineering will be discussed and considered. The focus will be on projects and topics such as optimization and parametric design, the integration of digital tools in the design and planning process in all phases, concrete innovations, as well as laser and additive manufacturing.
KREBS+KIEFER will be represented by the speaker Prof. Dr.-Ing. Jan Akkermann, who, together with the architect Bartlomiej Halaczek of Knight Architects, will present a contribution to the Kienlesberg Bridge in Ulm under the motto "Respect for function and form".
