A day trip to Leipzig – and no one was taken for a ride!
This was the motto of our charming tour guide on our work outing to Leipzig on 17.09.2015. Even before the tour of both historically prized buildings and current construction projects in the centre of Leipzig, we were warmly welcomed in glorious sunshine by our Leipzig colleagues, who had superbly organised this year's work outing.

Excited and elated, members of the team used one another’s name badges to seek out colleagues from Berlin, Dresden, Erfurt, Hamburg and of course Leipzig, in many cases previously known simply as a voice at the other end of the telephone. Invigorated, the team (with its numbers considerably swelled) set off for Leipzig Zoo. Anyone who thinks that a visit to the zoo has nothing to do with the construction industry is very much mistaken. In allotted groups, the tour guides told us all about the exotic creatures from Africa, Asia and South America and about the origins, maintenance and further development of the compounds, including the impressive tropical enclosure known as "Gondwanaland". Over a packed lunch, we reflected on our many impressions of the visit and on the information received and, refreshed and with our batteries recharged, we moved on to the subsequent city tour. Then there was still a little time remaining to partake in the recommended cup of coffee and a slice of "Leipziger Lerche". Of course, there was also time for a trip by tram through the Citytunnel, the construction of which had involved different departments as designers and engineers.
It brought us directly to the Bayerische Bahnhof where, after our action-packed agenda, we rounded off the day with a fantastic buffet after a brief speech. Lubricated with Leipzig gose beer and wine, there was animated discussion that could only be of benefit to the sense of community and collaboration of the staff from the different KREBS+KIEFER locations.
