For this project, KREBS+KIEFER was responsible for the services structural engineering, the building acoustics and the preventative fire safety.
Six years ago, cracks were discovered in the wooden structure of the gym. At an inspection by KREBS+KIEFER engineers it was determined that a renovation needed to carried out. Alongside the architects, the entire renovation of the school was carried out in compliance with heat insulation and fire protection.
The gym was first of all converted, then the extension building was erected and subsequently the listed old building and school grounds were renovated. A stairwell with a lift combines both school buildings and ensures accessibility for all.
The construction costs were approximately EUR 6.5 million.
