At this year's Architecture Day on 27 and 28 June 2015 in Rhineland-Palatinate, 70 selected projects under the theme of "Architecture is here to stay" will be presented within the framework of guided tours and accompanying events.
Planners, builders and users will be there to provide various information in direct talks.
A building project by KREBS+KIEFER - the renovation of the sports hall at the "Am Gautor" primary school in Oppenheim - was selected and will be presented at this event by our employees and project leader Mr Torsten Brüggemann on site together with the architectural office preparing the plans, Wolfgang Schuppach.
The primary school's sports hall, built in 1987, is in the monument zone in the old town of Oppenheim. The trigger for the renovation were cracks in the timber frame truss construction and the associated restriction in carrying capacity.
Restoration of the roof construction was not cost-effective, with the result that a concept was developed by the architectural office formulating the plans, taking into account the monument protection requirements, which also took into consideration the previously unsolved functional problems in the area of the gym and the static issues.
KREBS+KIEFER Ingenieure GmbH is responsible for the load-bearing structure, fire protection and thermal protection. We are looking forward to numerous visits from interested parties and of course various information will be available.
