Official handover ceremony for the Federal Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Consumer Protection in Berlin
A new building for the Federal Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Consumer Protection in Berlin was officially handed over to its users on 28.01.2010.^
With its irregular floor plan geometry, its dark façade and loam rendered walls, the building represents an outstanding architectural project.
KREBS+KIEFER was responsible for the structural design, for building physics calculations on thermal insulation in accordance with the laws on energy saving, for structural noise protection, for calculations on structural fire protection and for monitoring of engineering aspects of the construction process.

KREBS+KIEFER was responsible for the structural design, for building physics calculations on thermal insulation in accordance with the laws on energy saving, for structural noise protection, for calculations on structural fire protection and for monitoring of engineering aspects of the construction process.
A special feature of the project was the position of the new building which directly adjoins the existing Ministry, a protected building monument.
During the handover ceremony, KREBS+KIEFER - especially Dipl.-Ing. Arnd Hofmann who was mentioned by name - was praised in the presence of all the guests for its dedication and reliability during the project.
The handover ceremony ended with a convivial gathering at which organic beer and organic sausages were served.
