Opening of Heimsheim – Wurmberg section of A 8 motorway
The official opening ceremony of this section of the A 8 motorway between Stuttgart and Pforzheim took place on 17th October 2011 in the presence of State Secretary Dr. Scheuer, Minister of Transport of the state of Baden-Wurttemberg Mr. Hermann and District President Dr. Kühner.
The ceremony marked the expansion of a further section of the busy A 8 motorway to 6 lanes and opened it to traffic as one of the main east-west transit routes.

While continuing to bear its full traffic load, the motorway was temporarily swiveled at times in order to be able to build the required structures; in some cases, structures and parts of the motorway were built one side at a time.
KREBS+KIEFER produced the design and tender planning for three bridges in the Friolzheim area (K 4565, L 1175 und GVS).
