Research center for regenerative therapies (CRTD) in Dresden: Topping-out ceremony in April 2010
On 21st April 2010, all those involved in the planning and construction of the new center for regenerative therapies (CRTD) in Dresden met to celebrate the official completion of the building shell, under the topping-out wreath in the communications hall, the entrance area of the future research complex.
As Prof. Dr. Brandt, the head of the CRTD, commented when the foundation stone was laid, this meant that for the scientists working at CRTD, the „hole of hope“ (construction pit) had been transformed into a „hall of hope“ (communications hall).

But before the communications hall can become a true „hall of hope“ for all those working on the results of the fundamental research that will take place here in the future, the finishing trades will be working in the extension building until the planned start of operations in April 2011.
As a 2nd construction phase, the CRTD is directly connected with the existing biological innovation center building (BiOZ) and completes the research center with its additional laboratory areas, a lecture theater, exhibition and communication areas and facilities for research animals in the basement.
KREBS+KIEFER Dresden successfully handled the structural design of the building from the preliminary planning phase to construction supervision.
