The renovation and rehabilitation of the over 100-year-old building will reach completion during the year 2018.

The topping-out ceremony was started off by Sr. Major Ralf Claus, the alderman Wolf-gang Bärnwick and the architect Achim Pfeiffer with their individual presentations. The festive topping-out address delivered by master carpenter Christoph Coridaß rounded off the event.

The wine cellar, first built at the beginning of the 20th century will be renovated and converted into the central point of contact for the Rhine-Hesse wine region. The pro-tected building with landmark status will be the home of a tourism office, a restaurant and a Vinothek (wine house). Furthermore, the area of the vaulted brick cellar will serve as meeting rooms with more than 800 m² usable space each. The design of the main building engages with a bright, airy space, which will be utilising its glass roof and an indoor garden to invite you to linger.

The construction costs have been estimated to approximately 9.5 million Euro.
