Renovation and expansion of the BayArena Leverkusen

As part of an optimisation project, the capacity of the BayArena in Leverkusen was increased from 22,500 to 30,000 spectators. At the same time, new business and VIP suites were added, as well as a multifunctional area with rooms for player facilities, press and VIP catering. After the renovation, the entire arena was accessible from a higher perimeter level. The whole stadium area is covered by a circular roof in the shape of a spoke wheel with a skin of polycarbonate glass.
